My Education

I'm currently working on my master's degree in Publishing and Writing at Emerson College in Boston, MA. I completed my bachelor's degree in English at Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, GA in 2022.

Publishing and Writing MA at Emerson College

I plan to graduate from Emerson College in Spring 2024 with a master's degree in Publishing and Writing. I made the decision to get a graduate education because I wanted to learn more hard skills and gain a foothold in the industry. At Emerson College in Boston, I've taken classes so far on copyediting and digital, magazine, and book publishing. I look forward to learning more about metadata, children's and YA publishing, publicity, and book editing in the coming months.

While at Emerson, I've joined the staff at Redivider literary journal. I started as a reader in my first semester, and I worked my way up to assistant poetry editor on track to be the poetry editor in fall 2023.

English BA at Agnes Scott College

I graduated from Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, GA in spring 2022 with a bachelor's degree in English Literature. I also completed a minor in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS). I graduated summa cum laude and received multiple honors, including Excellence in the Study of English Literature and Best Senior Project in Literature for my essay about the colonial narrative structure Disney World requires its visitors to participate in. I also placed as a finalist several times in the Steven R. Guthrie Writers' Festival Contest (open to all Georgia college students) for poetry and creative nonfiction. I won once for playwriting.

I was an integral part of the literary community at the college, working on both the college's print literary journal Aurora and newspaper The Profile. I had multiple roles at each, but ended up working in leadership positions to revive both publications as the college returned to operations in person.

While at ASC, I completed my social media marketing internship and board membership at Charis Books and More, the oldest independent feminist bookstore in the South, which was across the street from the campus.
